My name is Tammy Bowles. I grew up back East and have lived in every coastal state from Alabama to Massachusetts. I attended college for my bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University in Utah. For five years, I taught in classrooms for the Alpine School District in Utah for students with behavior disabilities, learning disabilities, other health impairments, and autism spectrum disorders. I was also an Autism Consultant for the district. My family moved to Oregon 20 years ago and I began teaching here in Seaside. I enjoy spending time on outdoor adventures with my family. I am married, have three children, one grandchild, and another grandchild on the way. I attended school for my master’s degree at Portland State University. My master’s degree is in teaching students who are blind or have visual impairments. I have been teaching the Developmental Classroom in the Seaside School District for the past 19 years. We have a fun and engaging classroom that concentrates on student strengths in order to expand and learn new skills. I love getting to celebrate with students as they learn new skills to become more independent in each aspect of their lives.
