I’m Kenzie Skyles, a Seaside High School Alumni who craved the coastal lifestyle once again. I grew up in this beloved community, where the ocean air and the connections I made shaped me into who I am today. After moving to Portland after college I wanted to be a part of the atmosphere once again, but this time to help students fall in love with their home and feel the same closeness I felt when I was a student. I graduated from Linfield College, now Linfield University, in 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Education. I knew that I wanted to work in education, but I wasn’t sure how. I spent some time working in schools as an instructional assistant for Title I. It helped me realize that I wanted to be an elementary school teacher. I then got my Masters in Teaching from Concordia University in 2019. I did my student teaching in first grade, and I’m very excited to be teaching first grade once again. When I’m not teaching, I love to go surfing or skateboarding with my family, hanging out with my friends on the beach. I love long road trips to see new things, and listening to music with the windows rolled down, no matter the weather! I am also an avid reader, and love to take parts in arts and crafts.
