Hello Pacific Ridge Elementary Community! My name is Kaile Jones, and I am very excited to be one of your school counselor’s for the 2020-2021 school year! This will be my second year with Seaside School District. Last year I moved from Philadelphia Pennsylvania, and began my career as a school counselor at Gearhart Elementary. I am so grateful to have been welcomed into this community by such amazing teachers, staff, students and families. While last year had its challenges, I am looking forward to beginning this school year at Pacific Ridge Elementary, with new teachers, staff, students, and parents. Prior to beginning my life and counseling career in Oregon, I graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice, from York College of Pennsylvania. From there, I worked for about three and a half years in the small rural town of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, as a treatment counselor for adjudicated youth. This experience helped to enhance my passion for working with children and young adults, and therefore motivated me to obtain my Masters of Education in School Counseling, in 2017. After receiving my Masters, I worked as a building substitute, in a small charter school in Exton, PA, where I was given a wide array of responsibilities including but not limited to; teaching K-6 classes, planning and implementing executive functioning and social skills groups within learning support, and being the go to person when a need arose. I am privileged to be serving in my very first school counseling position at Gearhart and I hope to deliver the highest standard of support and services to you and your children. While I greatly enjoy what I do, and would LOVE to spend my days at work (aren’t I supposed to say that? ☺) I do enjoy exploring the beautiful outdoors, especially on the lovely coast of Oregon. Some of my hobbies and interests include biking, hiking, camping, staying active, art, travel, music, watching football (For those of you who don’t know… GO EAGLES (Philly of course!), and merely just exploring and experiencing new places and surroundings. This Spring, I welcomed into my family a sweet puppy named Dusty Rose. I spend all of my time with her on the beach and giving her lots of love and attention! I am very much looking forward to getting to know the students, families, staff, and teachers of G.E.S and integrating myself into this wonderful close-knit community. Thank you so much for continuing to welcome me into your school and home town!
