- Where did you go to school? I graduated from Clatsop Community College with an AAOT. Then I earned a B.S. in Education Foundations, a B.A. in Spanish, and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Teaching from University of Oregon. Go Ducks! In 2017 I participated in Project DEMILO at Western Oregon University to gain an endorsement in Elementary Math Leadership.
- How long have you been teaching and what grade level? I have been teaching for 11 years. I taught 2nd grade for nine years and ELD for two years.
- What's your favorite subject to teach? My favorite subject to teach is math.
- What was your favorite subject when you were in school? My favorite subject in school was math.
- Who was your favorite teacher & why? or What made you want to become a teacher? My fifth grade teacher, Mr. Meston, was my favorite teacher. Every Friday we had a class party, either a mosh pit/ dance party (if it was snowing) or a class kickball game. He also took us to a local coffee shop to read our poetry. We even went on an all-day field trip to Chicago!
- Favorite hobby? Some of my favorite hobbies outside are riding my bike, fishing, hiking, camping, and having bonfires on the beach. During the rainy season I enjoy curling up with a book next to the fireplace, playing board games, and movie marathons.
- Favorite book? I love re-reading the Harry Potter series every summer.
- Favorite coffee drink? Stash Chai tea is the best!
- If I had an extra $10 to spend on my classroom, I would buy: smelly markers
- If I had an extra $10 to spend on myself, I would buy: a cinnamon candle
- If I could pick a gift card to any store/restaurant, I would choose: Any local Thai food or Mexican food restaurant
